The photo above is a bracelet I had made out of copper, I had wielded four pieces of metal together two were copper pieces that I had smashed to add a unique design. Then I had wielded one copper piece to the main piece on the end to create a kind of stabilizing band and then repeater on the other side and on the inside. The key element of art used was shape because of how the shape of the edges were mended, the key principle of design emphasis because of how the pattern on either side draws the viewers eye to it. Which is important because without it, it would be a straight copper piece with nothing to make it unique. Another key element of art that was used was texture because it drew out the balance to the piece with how either side has the same texture. This is important because without it the piece would be bland and un-memorable. The idea behind this piece was to make something that I thought my mother would really enjoy because I knew she had bracelets already that were a design like that. I also wanted to make it unique hence why I did both edges with the same pattern. Another interpretation I had gotten from this piece was the theme which was simple but unique because the design itself isn't that complicated but it's very unique. Overall I think this piece was a success because of how both pieces of metal contrast the main piece, what I believe needs improvement is the edges of the piece because I believe that with a little more refinement the piece could've been smoother and well refined. I'm not to happy with the final outcome of the piece because it tends to scratch me whenever I put it on, although the process in making it I thought was really fun.
