My objective for this project was to play around with the different kinds of filters, in order to do this I wanted to add different filters on different areas of the photo.
Research
In the long run you don't have to use just on filter on one sections, you might even realize that you like the way your photo looks when you have multiple filters on one area. You can add different qualities for each filter which makes a cooler finish look, because it's not normally what the eye sees.

Five Step Critique
1)Observe. 2)Describe: The photo was printed on a pearl smooth piece of paper on a 8' by 10' inch, the matting was a white boarder. In the foreground is myself wearing a grey worldwide obey sweatshirt with the top of my jeans barely shown in the left corner which I edited with two different filters, the first filter is the mirror filter which I had turned the contrast and I shifted the lighting in different areas to give it an "ombre look" (everywhere besides myself). The other filter was a harsh filters which I had made the lines and contrast higher to make the person really stand out from the rest of the photo. 2)Analyze: The element of art and design that I had done was texture, contrast. I had used texture to difference the two objects in the photo apart, I also used texture to make the lines around my body and sleeves/over all figure stand out compared to the different texture on the tree. In this photo I wanted the viewer to really have to take a second look at what they were looking at, not that the picture itself is confusing but the fact that it's two different filters that combined into one photo makes it unique and different. I had used contrast when drawing the viewers attention straight to the person, at first I wanted the main abject stand out compared to the background object but as I started playing around I realized I could make the lines bolder and make the person have a real scratchiness to it. Then I added less contrast in the background to make it more mellow than the foreground. 3)Interpret: The interpretation I had wanted the viewer to get was that it was a nice day in the sun with a little abstract I wanted the viewer to imagine what the photo would look like without the filters would it be a clear day at the park or was it dark and stormy. When I added the ombre I wanted the viewer to realize that it was there but as I look longer at this photo I realize that the ombre almost looks natural because of the way the light is strongest at the bottom but then as you eye moves to the pine needles of the tree the light also becomes darker. 4)Evaluate: I thought this photo was a success because I was able to try multiple filters at once, and I was able to see the way other filters would collide with well. I thought the background filter gave the whole picture more of a whimsical feeling. Which the filter that was in the foreground gave the picture a harsh sketched look, which the two different materials normally don't collide together well but I thought I did a nice job of accorporating the two. What I think I could improve in this photo was the way the two filters ended up connecting I think that maybe if I enhanced the feather tool then it would give the two filters a smoother transition into each other.
