My plan for this project was to take pictures of peoples body parts and edit them in weird ways, some was by making multiple layers and making the hand look like it's moving in slow motion, others were the way it was colored, and overall just playing around with editing.
My shoot
For my shoot I took many photos of different body parts of my friend bailey and of myself, my original plan was to take a lot of photos of a persons hand and morph it into one photo, so it looked like the hand was moving. As I took these photos I realized I could use a lot of my ideas for the trippy part of the project.
My Edits
For my edited photos the first one I did I just urned the gradient layer purple and blue so it helped give the effect that the hand was moving, for the second photo I edited I took a picture of Baileys feet and made the really clear and like they stood out, I really liked the way color matches the background and her shoes. The third photo I edited I had taken a photo of my feet and I tried to make the background completely black but when that didn't work I added white dots to help draw away from the objects in the background. For the last photo I edited I took many photos of Bailey's hand and layered them on top of each other then I changed the gradient map to yellow and blue and made all the yellow in the photo stand out.
My Printed Photo
In the photo I printed I took a photo of my friends feet up against a white back drop, Her socks and shoes were white and her pants were black which I thought really drew the picture all together. I had edited the photo to make it darker so the place where her feet were pressed against the back drop. I thought the color in this photo really helped with the contrast thats also in it because her shoes are white along with the white back drop but her skin and legs look really dark against it, I think all together it really draws it it in because of how it has both dark and light in it. Overall I think the combination of the colors and the back drop brings the viewer a sense of calmness by how it all flows together and isn't to bright but you can still see the color resemblance. I believe this photo is a success because it plain and basic which was the mood I was getting from the piece where is elegant but simple. What I believe I can work on for this piece is making it a little bit lighter making the legs and ankles stand out a little bit more.
