My plan for this project was to take a photo of my friend where she was smiling at the camera because of something that made her laugh or just taking a photo of her while we were talking, my overall plan was a take a candid photo.
My Edits
For my edits, I challenged myself to edit them to match the mood I was given by the photo, for the first photo I edited I tried making it ready to match the participants hair color but as I was exploring with the piece I realized I liked the photo in black and white because of the way her jawline looked and how her eyelashes really stood out. For the second piece I edited the lighting I had wasn't the best so I used that to my advantage. I darkened the photo even more and made it really crisp and emphasised all the blue in the photo so it matched the way her face was looking. For the fourth photo I edited I tried to make it dark and gloomy like the other photos I had edited but while I was playing around I realized I really liked the way the yellow matched with her skin tone. So I enhanced all the yellows in the photo to really connect the photo, I also made her jawline sharper and her eyes really pop out so it was like happy but you could also see the sad in her face.
My printed photo
I decided to go with this photo of Gretal because I really like the two different moods clashing together, I also enjoyed the glare the sun left on Gretal's head. I had used the saturation tool to enhance all the yellows in the photo and then I used the color balance tool to enhance the blues left in the photo to apprehend her eyes and the blue jacket on the seat next to her. I had made the saturation really high so her body and the edges really popped out.
